Time and time again I have witnessed women feeling disheartened and confused trying to keep up with their same exercise routine after becoming pregnant.

“Em's prenatal movement class was excellent. I loved that it was really tailored for pregnancy - Em brings a unique combination of pregnancy knowledge (as a doula) and extensive fitness / movement expertise, so the class felt really personalised and relevant. She spent time sharing knowledge that's relevant for my pregnancy journey as well as a great yoga / movement session”

The Movement Project ~ Prenatal classes

How I work

During this phase of your life when pregnant or postpartum, your body has never been through so much change! You need specific modifications for a body that is changing physically, emotionally and hormonally. This way of moving will enhance your changing body. And once you have been cleared for exercise post birth, the specific requirements of your changing body don’t end there...in fact the journey is just beginning all over again!

In our 1.1 sessions I will use a combination of pilates, functional strength, and Yoga. This will give you the tools to maintain and build strength and cardiovascular fitness, whilst opening and releasing connective tissue, in preparation for birth. If you’re postpartum, movement will assist your recovery rather than hinder it if done right, let’s get you moving without fear or concern! I will also give you the options and modifications you need to take into your group classes (functional group fitness/yoga/pilates). I want you to move with knowledge and confidence during this time.

  • “I loved training with Em during my pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester when my body had changed the most. Em’s thoughtful, wholistic program helped me maintain my strength and mobility right up to the delivery”

    - Sam, Bondi

  • "I’ve had the pleasure of training with Em both in group settings and one-on-one throughout both of my pregnancies and postpartum journeys. Em is a wealth of knowledge, offering valuable insights into the changes my body underwent as I carried my two boys. She taught me how to incorporate breathwork and pelvic floor exercises into my training sessions, helping me prepare for birth. Emily has been incredibly supportive throughout my recoveries, especially after having two Caesarean sections within 18 months. She has been my go-to for reassurance about the hormonal and physical changes I've experienced. From holding my boys while I finish a set of squats to reminding me to tap into my intuition and my body, Emily’s care has been invaluable. Every mumma would be fortunate to have Em on their team for this wild ride we call motherhood!"

    Alice

  • "I had the privilege of Emily training me throughout my twin pregnancy. Her knowledge, experience, care and understanding of prenatal training is incredible. Emily provided a safe space for me to move my body during pregnancy that was both challenging but never pushed me. I looked forward to my weekly sessions and credit my movement in pregnancy to recovery postpartum. Emily is a fountain of knowledge applying her training in yoga and Pilates to all our sessions and using her caring and compassionate nature to empower me to stay strong and move in pregnancy, labour and postpartum."

    Fodhla

  • "Emily was an incredibly thoughtful and knowledgeable trainer. She took the time to understand my goals, background and current situation to create a training plan that was perfectly suited to my pregnancy journey. I cannot recommend Emily enough!"

    Priya

  • "I trained with Emily in various forms of movement (barre, yoga, strength, interval & conditioning) at different studios in Bondi before I fell pregnant. What I absolutely love about Emily is her approach to teaching - very intentional and grounded in breath work. This motivated me to stay grounded in my body and breathe (whenever possible!) even when my heart rate at its peak during training. I knew I wanted to continue moving in a safe way when I fell pregnant and it was a no brainer to have Em as my PT to support me in my fitness journey during my pregnancy. I trained well into my third trimester with Em. I would 100% recommend Emily as a PT - pregnant or not!"
